Our lifesaving work takes us to every corner of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with most of our calls towards the south of our catchment
Welcome
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is seeking to move from its current home at Thruxton near Andover, and base its new headquarters on a site adjacent to Southampton Airport.
We have been based at Thruxton since 2007, but with the majority of major trauma calls coming from the south, we are seeking a more central location to improve response times and save more lives.
Moving close to Southampton Airport will reduce average response times, which could make all the difference in critical situations.
We have identified a site in George Curl Way on the airport’s southern edge that would suit our need perfectly. The new location would become the charity’s new headquarters with a helipad, offices, staff facilities, along with parking for our rapid response vehicles and those of visitors and employees.
Before relocating, we need to prepare a planning application and therefore we want to speak to residents and other important local stakeholders about our plans. As a result, we are holding this community consultation on our project website.

Your feedback.
Before taking our plans to the next stage we are keen to hear the views of residents and other important local stakeholders.
As a result, we are holding a virtual consultation – with printed copies of our materials available on request – to outline our vision and receive your feedback.
